SACRAMENTO, November 18, 2025 - The California Department of Food and Agriculture, Meat, Poultry and Egg Safety Branch is announcing three vacancies on the Egg Safety and Quality Management Program’s Shell Egg Advisory Board.
The board and the program work together to monitor egg quality at the production, wholesale, and retail levels. The goal is to provide California consumers with eggs that are wholesome, properly labeled, refrigerated, and meet the standard of established quality, while maintaining fair and equitable marketing standards.
These vacancies, for two industry members and one alternate member, are being created due to upcoming term expirations. The membership terms for these vacancies will be 36 months.
Applicants for industry member positions must be registered California egg handlers or representatives of registered egg handlers.
Board members receive no compensation but are entitled to reimbursement for transportation to and from meetings and for per diem expenses for lodging, meals, and incidental expenses.
The advisory board plays a vital role in providing industry expertise to assist the Egg Safety and Quality Management Program. .
