SACRAMENTO, January 5, 2026 - The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Integrated Pest Control Branch is announcing three vacancies on the California Cotton Pest Control Board.
The Food and Agricultural Code (FAC), Sections 6001-6006.6, authorizes the
Secretary to establish the California Cotton Pest Control Board (Board). The Board advises the CDFA Secretary on matters which pertain to the control of cotton pests.
The Board consists of ten members, which includes at least one cotton grower from each of the major cotton-growing counties and one public member.
There is no set term limit for board members. Members receive no compensation but are entitled to payment of necessary travel expenses in accordance with the rules of the Department of Personnel Administration. Members are considered public officials and must be willing to comply with necessary disclosure requirements.
There are three vacancies for cotton growers from cotton-growing counties in the state. Individuals interested in being considered for Board appointments should send a brief letter of interest and a completed Prospective Member Appointment Questionnaire with resume to the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Integrated Pest Control Branch, 2895 N.
