SACRAMENTO, September 25, 2026 – The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Office of Farm to Fork (CDFA-F2F) announces proposals are being accepted until November 3 for the 2026 California Nutrition Incentive Program (CNIP).
CNIP provides competitive grant funding to organizations to provide nutrition incentives to nutrition benefit (CalFresh) shoppers, as well as support program operations and outreach. Incentives should be available to shoppers using CalFresh benefits to purchase California-grown fresh fruits and vegetables.
For this request, CDFA-F2F is seeking project proposals from qualified entities to distribute incentives at Certified Farmers’ Markets, Certified Mobile Farmers’ Markets, Community Supported Agriculture sites, farm stands, and small brick and mortar retailers throughout California.
Applications must be submitted through logging in to CDFA’s Grant Opportunity and Administration and Tracking System (GOATS), no later than 5 p.m. (PST), November 3, 2026. Further information on the grant program, including the Request for Proposals (RFP), timeline and application criteria are available in GOATS and on the CNIP website. A webinar will be held at 11 a.m. (PST) October 13, 2026, to review the RFP and answer any applicant questions.
